The Big Fools Said to Push On

Thus far, the war in Iraq has cost us dearly. More than 25,000 U.S. casualties, including almost 3,000 dead. And $350 billion in taxpayer funds.

Now Bush wants a troop “surge” for Iraq. Maybe 20,000 more troops. Or 40,000. Where will he and Robert Gates get these troops? And how? Nobody seems to know, including the generals.

It's Christmas Eve. What would the Prince of Peace do? Authorize a troop surge? Kill still more people?

The time to leave is now.
