Luke vs. Vader in Montana

Matt Singer at Left in the West is doing a great job exploring the Montana State Legislature’s inability to come up with a budget. Now the 90-day session is over and the pols have gone home. It’s certain they will be called back from a special session, since the legislature’s main job – in Montana and everywhere else – is the budget.

I can’t begin to describe the problem. Matt leaves it up to an excellent column by David Sirota, who explains that the Montana example reflects what is happening on the national level as a rising tide of smart progressives battle a dying cadre of narrow-minded Republicans. And he couches it all in examples from "Star Wars."

Read Sirota’s column here.
