Turnbull Keynote Speaker at Dems' Banquet
Susan Turnbull, vice chair of the Democratic National Committee, will be the keynote speaker for the Nellie Tayloe Ross Banquet at the Plains Hotel, 1600 Central Avenue in downtown Cheyenne, on Saturday, Feb. 24. . This annual event, sponsored by the Wyoming Democratic Party and named for the nation’s first woman governor, will kick off with a no-host cocktail hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner. This is the year’s big fund-raiser for the state’s Dems, so you’ll be paying Republican Party prices at $75 per ticket. It’s also a great opportunity to draw in Democrats from around the state to talk to their legislators and party leaders.
Susan Turnbull was elected DNC vice chair in February 2005. She’s worked in numerous campaigns and Democratic Party leadership positions, and prefers to be known as a "community activist." She regularly appears on talk radio, MSNBC, and sometimes even on Fox News. Susan was a platform speaker at the 2000 Democratic Convention where she chaired the Women's Caucus. In 2004, she was co-organizer of the Convention's women's events. She’s campaigned for the Democratic Party and its candidates in more than 30 states, the District of Columbia, and with Democrats Abroad in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Warsaw and Taipei.
