In the West, crowds gather for Obama

Everyone in Wyoming turned out to see Sen. Barack Obama today...

Just kidding. This photo shows the crowd along the banks of the Willamette River in Portland, Ore., on Sunday. Somewhere between 75,000 and 80,000 people turned out for the rally in advance of the May 20 primary. Sen. Obama was in Montana today, campaigning for the state's June 3 primary. He also was adopted into the Crow Nation.

A number of people from the Sheridan peacemaker group that stands on the corner every Tuesday night to protest the war went up to the Crow Nation to see Obama yesterday. The reviews to their mailing list have been glowing, with lots of people saying they're "walking on air."

Sorry to be off topic...
...but we other 54 "State Bloggers" from all over the world are attempting to form, in the finest syndico-anarchist tradition (...Amish barn raising, if you prefer) a mutual aid association for traveling and staying and getting the most from blogging from the floor.

If you're way savvy about covering conventions, please share.
If you just plain need some advise, please ask.

Please drop me an email so that I can get you on the email list.

Thanks,
Mike

I know the group. I'm glad they got up to Crow Nation to see Obama. I wonder if he'll be back in WYO before the national convention?
